Have you ever felt that you are being pulled into diferent directions at the same time? I have been living this way for the past few weeks feeling like I am on a roller coaster and God has given me insight into exactly what is happening.
He answered, “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind’; and, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’” (Luke 10:27)
I have read this verse many times under many different circumstances. Today, I read it and the same as every time before, I got a new message from it. Now, this is the scripture that Jesus gave us citing as the most important commands that God has given to us, His children, to live by.
Today I read this with the subconsciousness of Valentine’s Day looming in the background and I suddenly thought about all the people out there in the world who are thinking about their spouses, their significant others, mothers, fathers, brothers and sisters and wonderered if any thought about their creator. Are you trying to keep something hidden or have a secret? Is there something in your past that continually haunts you? Is there a deep regret about something that you did or perhaps didn’t do when you should have? Would you like to be free from it?
Most of us don’t like to admit that we are wrong, that we have done something wrong or even that what we thought was wrong. We suffer from this thing called human pride. It’s a sneaky little thing that runs around in the best camouflage attire on the market.
How many times did the Israelites go down in flames because they formed alliances with other nations and peoples instead of turning to God Himself?
Why is it we turn to those that are nearest to us or our way of thinking to help us in our times of need? Continue reading
Nestled in my arms and contented to rock the afternoon away, my son falls asleep. The gentle rocking motion soothes the tiredness and lulls me into a state of easy rest.
This is how I picture God to be when I come to him with my worries and cares and concerns. He nestles me into His arms and lulls me into a peaceful state. Continue reading
