Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves. Do you not realize that Christ Jesus is in you—unless, of course, you fail the test? (2 Corinthians 13:5)
Recently, God challenged me about my faith. He asked me “Is it personal and real?” Finding myself in a situation where my faith has been challenged over and over again earns me this little pat on my cheek from God.
“Saul replied, “I have sinned. But please honor me before the elders of my people and before Israel; come back with me, so that I may worship the Lord your God.” (1 Samuel 15:30) NIV
Have you ever met someone who you thought had an over inflated ego? Someone who had an enormous sense of self-importance? King Saul found himself in a situation where he placed more value on what the people thought of him than he did his role of being God’s anointed king and made a bad decision that ultimately cost him his kingdom.
The Lord reigns, he is robed in majesty; the Lord is robed in majesty and armed with strength; indeed, the world is established, firm and secure. (Psalm 93:1) NIV

The word pilgrim is a noun and describes someone that embarks on a long journey to a sacred place for religious reasons. Dear friends, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal that has come on you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you. (1 Peter 4:12) NIV
Sitting in my pyjamas watching one of my son’s favorite cartoons I began to feel a bit strange. The feeling was a little bit of light-headedness and a bit energy drain. On this particular day I can tell you my energy level was below par, I had been sick for over five days and there were no signs of improvement. I began to wonder if the medicine I had been taking was having some sort of side affect, but I had been taking it for many days and hadn’t felt that way. My mind turned to thoughts of some sort of spiritual divination, after all I had prayed for healing, but that thought didn’t gel with that feeling. After all, here I sit now on day ten, still sick but hoping that I have turned the corner on this ugly beast that has attacked my chest and sinus cavities. Continue reading
The wicked run away when no one is chasing them, but the godly are as bold as lions. (Proverbs 28:1)
The definition of apathy is indifference, lack of interest, lack of enthusem, lack of concern, unresponsiveness, dispassion, lethargy, languor, lack of feeling or emotion, suppression of passion or emotion or excitement, insensibility.
Does this describe any areas of your life? Are you apathetic towards your work, friends, family, wife or husband? Do you find yourself going through each day in the same way with the same outlook, the same approach, demeanour or attitude? Continue reading
The second death…so the first death is the death of the body that we currently live in. God tells us of a second death, once He judges the way we have lived our lives here on earth, through Jesus in Matthew 7:23, “Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!” Continue reading
