Are You Being Heard?

But your iniquities have separated you from your God; your sins have hidden His face from you, so that He will not hear. (Isaiah 59:2) NIV

Do you have iniquities that have come between you and God? If you don’t know you may want to start with the definition of iniquity. It is a noun, meaning immoral or grossly unfair behavior. The Bible uses this word to indicate a level of disobedience to God which is categorized as sin.

Folly’s Rollercoaster

Wisdom has built her house; she has set up its seven pillars. (Proverbs 9:1)

Have you ever felt that you are being pulled into diferent directions at the same time? I have been living this way for the past few weeks feeling like I am on a roller coaster and God has given me insight into exactly what is happening.

The Value of Vanity

In the dictionary vanity is given two separate meanings 1. excessive pride in or admiration of one’s own appearance or achievements and 2. the quality of being worthless or futile.

What a contradiction in terms to show such value in one term and such worthlessness in another. This is the contradiction of life……..that one places value in the vanity of their own destiny at the hands of their own making therefore rendering the quality worthless or futile.

This is also the lie that leads so many astray. They see what is perceived to be value based upon their vanity, but what they get is worthless based upon its true essence.

On this particular day I can tell you my energy level was below par, I had been sick for over five days and there were no signs of improvement. I began to wonder if the medicine I had been taking was having some sort of side affect, but I had been taking it for many days and hadn’t felt that way. My mind turned to thoughts of some sort of spiritual divination, after all I had prayed for healing, but that thought didn’t gel with that feeling. After all, here I sit now on day ten, still sick but hoping that I have turned the corner on this ugly beast that has attacked my chest and sinus cavities. Continue reading

Couch Potato

Do you ever have days when you wake up and feel that something is slightly different but you can’t put you finger on it? You are not firing on all the cylinders and a bit off kilter. You go through the motions of the routine in your day, you greet the same people, you look through the same emails, texts, messages and “to do” lists but there is no motivation to act. A Fresh Approach

Why is it that we take our time to read the Bible, pray, wait, listen and hear the word of the Lord, then ignore it? This is big deal to me!! I am seriously trying to be more active in my listening. I find that I am really good at praying and getting things off my chest, but very bad at waiting to hear what God has to say. Continue reading
